Powder Ridge may be gone, but you can still find impeccable skiing in Connecticut. Woodbury offers downhill skiiing and snowboarding, while Sundown offers night skiing. Tow other fabulous Connecticut ski resorts to discover are Mowhawk Mountain in Cornwall and Mount Southington in Plantsville. Connecticut’s diverse cross-country ski trails are another excellent playground after a fresh snowfall. When there’s no the time to travel north – yes, you can ski Connecticut!

Although there are some rather impressive ski resorts just to the north of Massachusetts, you can still find several winter slopes within the commonwealth of Massachusetts itself to ski and snowboard when you don’t have the time to travel north. Both Berkshire East Ski Area and Jiminy Peak Mountain Resort offer nearly 50 different ski trails. Other popular MA ski resorts include Catamount Ski Area in South Egremont, Blandford Ski Area in Blandford and Butternut in Great Barrington, MA.

Although Rhode Island is an ocean state, it still provides one fun ski resort to hit the slopes on those white winter days. Yawgoo Valley, located in Exeter, may be Rhode Island’s only ski resort, but with twelve trails and four lifts it will still provide you with a day of fun in the winter sun when you just can’t travel to the big resorts up north. If cross country skiing is more your style, Rhode Island’s state parks provide some great trails to explore. Check out the xc ski trails at Goddard Memorial State Park in Warwick and Lincoln Woods State Park in Lincoln.
